Clothing and Craft Swap - Bozeman Fashion Week 💝

Join us for a mini upcycling & styling swap Bozeman Fashion Week collab with Craft Supply Swap by Creative Reuse Montana and Bridger Thrift! Bring items you are ready to part with, and swap them for new-to-you items at the Clothing & Craft Swap! This was so much fun in September. See you there!!

• You are not required to bring items to the swap in order to participate - and if you do choose to bring things to the swap, please make sure they are in usable & sanitary condition and see our list of suggested items below.   

• Entry is suggested $5 or pay-what-you-can to help us cover the base costs of organization & give back to our volunteers and community.

• Please join us in the spirit of this event: to get materials into the hands of people who will use them, saving money and waste - no stashing.

CLOTHING

For this swap, we are emphasizing self-expression, upcycling & styling as well as gender affirming clothing and warm gear for winter. If you find garments you are inspired to alter or mend, you can bring them back for the Bozeman Fashion Week Mending Workshop on Thursday! We are partnering with Bridger Thrift to distribute any extras.

CRAFT SUPPLIES

We’re popping up with clothing, garment-making, mending, and clothing embellishment supplies! Get ready to make someone's day.

 We’re looking for:

• fabric! 

• notions and Tools: sewing notions, thread, trim/binding, bias tape, zippers, buttons, pins/needles, pin cushions, fabric ribbon, velcro / hook & loop, elastic, leather, lace, vintage trims, felt, kits, seam rippers, scissors, rotary cutters, cutting boards

• fabric dye and paint

• books, patterns, magazines, stencils

• Slow stitch and visible mending supplies

• Patches and other embellishments

• sewing machines/other equipment (working order), mannequins/dress forms

• sewing baskets/cases and storage, pins & cushions

• thread and yarn (nearly rolled/stored)

• knitting and crochet tools

• embroidery hoops and floss (neatly stored), sewing needles

Craft items not taken by swappers will be saved for the next swap, donated, or recycled. We work hard to find a new home for every last supply. Some of the items may end up at the Bozeman Fashion Week Mending Workshop, the Creative Reuse Montana shop (including kits or workshops), Studio Wheelhouse classes, or may be shared with local programs through our Art & Education Supplies project.

Please do not bring: 

• dirty or broken items, home linens, sheets, drapes, tablecloths, fabric samples

• items NOT in usable & sanitary condition

Please be sure to: 

• pack sharps in a labeled, hard-sided container

• bring items in containers we can keep
